Eurotron’s sister company opens testing facility for back-contact solar in the Netherlands

Eurolab is a laboratory that facilitates preproduction of back-contact solar panels, R&D projects, and small-scale production for solar challenge teams

Eurolab, a sister company of Netherlands’ Eurotron B.V., which manufactures automated equipment for the production of PV modules, announced the opening of its new testing facility for back-contact solar modules.
Eurolab said the facility will be located close to Eurotron’s manufacturing facilities in Bleskensgraaf and close to Gorinchem, the Netherlands.
The testing facility is intended to serve solar manufacturers as well as research institutes and material suppliers. Eurolab stressed that the laboratory will provide state-of-the-art production equipment for the structuring of conductive back sheets, solar panel manufacturing, lamination, IV testing, and EL testing.
The facility’s primary goal, the company said, is to facilitate pre-production of back-contact solar panels, R&D projects, and small-scale production for solar challenge teams.
“Clients can test-manufacture solar panels before they purchase the equipment needed to set up a fully fledged production line. Based on a small batch, certification can be applied for, while our client hasn’t even begun manufacturing their new product, saving months of waiting time,” said Bart de Gier, R&D engineer et Eurolab.
Eurolab, which is a separate legal entity, operating independently from Eurotron, said it will acquire Eurotron’s current in-house test centre. Both companies are subsidiaries of Dutch industrial corporation Eurogroep.
