Phoenix Solar awarded contracts in Australia and U.S.

A Singapore-based subsidiary of Phoenix Solar AG has been contracted to design a PV system near the Australian city of Perth. The Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the 39 MW solar park is expected to be issued in August this year, as the German PV company announced on Thursday. As a partner of a joint venture established for the purpose of this project, Phoenix Solar will be in charge of the offshore procurement of all vital components.
The project was developed and will be owned by Australian clean energy development company WestGen. The third partner, South African infrastructure contractor WHBO, will manage and carry out the construction phase.
“With this large project, Phoenix Solar is not only reentering the market of ground-mounted utility-scale solar PV power plants in the Asia/Pacific region, but we also take a big step onto the Australian market“ said Mark Argar, Phoenix Solar Senior Vice President Asia/Pacific.
The German PV company also announced that an EPC contract was signed for a project in the USA just a few days ago. However, the agreement is still subject to the customer’s right of publication and other conditions, which are to be met in the coming weeks. More details of the project will be published then.
In addition, Phoenix Solar has been in negotiations for another project in the USA. Both projects should already have an impact on the financial results in the first half of the year. According to the solar company, due to the delays they will mainly affect the results of the second quarter.
