Solaria Energía buys 10.9 MW solar plant in southern Spain

Spanish solar company Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente announced it has acquired a 10.9 MW solar park near Badajoz, in Spain’s southern region of Extremadura.
The company’s unit Solaria Energía Generación Renovable S.L. has acquired 100% of Magacela Solar 1, S.A.U., the special purpose vehicle owning the plant, from DTL Corporación, S.L. for €61.5 million ($71.9 million). Solaria said the transaction was financed through a €47 million project bond launched on the German stock exchange.
Including this new acquisition, the company’s solar power plant portfolio has now reached 55 MW. In early June, Solar acquired full ownership of a 5,8 MW solar PV plant located in Sardinia, Italy. Financing for the project was arranged by the Italian bank Intesa San Paolo. The plant was connected to the grid in October 2010.
“Solariy currently works actively in new development opportunities both in Europe and in Latin America that will enable to substantially increase the size of its generation portfolio currently of more than 72 MW,” the company said in its press release.
