Promises of more friction, less ballast on flat roofs

Wednesday, July 25, 2pm - 3pm (CEST, Berlin)
in partnership with K2 Systems
During pv magazine's upcoming webinar, K2 Systems will present two recent PV developments designed for flat roofs: The aerodynamically optimized mounting systems, D-Dome V and S-Dome V, including a newly designed EPDM-support pad – the "Mat V".

The Mat V not only protects a roof’s covering, but according to Marco Stifel, product manager at K2, enhances the static friction of the systems. If an array is installed using this new system, it would require significantly less ballast and allows it to deal with temperature induced expansion of the roof and the aluminum rail.

During this webinar, we will discuss the developments and look at the test results of the new materials.

Part of the discussion will focus on what to keep in mind when choosing roof membranes. Günther Fischer, Professor at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences will share his expertise on this topic with us.

  • Recent developments in the flat roof systems S- and D-Dome V
  • The new support pad "Mat V" for K2 Mounting Systems
  • Unique features of the material EPDM and its effects on the roof
Questions can be submitted beforehand or during the webinar through a chat window. Becky Beetz, Head of content, pv magazine, will host the webinar. We look forward to your participation!
